Job Purpose 

As a key player in our team, you will be instrumental in assisting tour operators and travel agents in crafting their bespoke packages. Your primary responsibility will be to nurture connections with assigned account agents, whether they are existing partners or new additions to our network. 

What sets this role apart is the seamless coordination with our network offices in Japan, which manages all the booking processes. This means that you can concentrate on what you do best - building relationships and driving business - without the hassle of supplier negotiations. Effective communication is at the heart of our operations where we conduct all of the interactions with colleagues and customers in English. 

Salary: £50,000.00 per annum 

Main Responsibilities

  • Nurturing and maintaining positive relationships with customers, including tour operators and travel agents. 

  • Providing compelling and competitive quotations to the customers, using our internal system.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless coordination of arrangements in line with quotations and customer requirements.

  • Keep stakeholders informed by regularly updating statuses and sharing relevant information with both customers and colleagues. 

  • Manage the issuance of service invoices and oversee payments control.

  • Stay well-informed about the latest developments and information related to Japan.

  • Actively contribute to business expansion by fostering new contracts through participation in travel fairs, email promotions and other strategic initiatives. 

 

Skills and Experience

Relevant skills / Characteristics

  • Ability to travel internationally, including to Japan and Europe

  • Proven track record in driving sales results

  • Adaptability to work in a multicultural environment 

  • Problem solving skills

  • Proficiency in creating presentations

Required experience / knowledge

Essential 

  • In-depth knowledge of Japan as a travel destination and a deep understanding of Japanese culture. 

  • Minimum of two years of pre-pandemic experience in a DMC role as a tour operator or a travel agent.

Desirable 

  • Knowledge of Japanese language (fluency not mandatory).

  • Good knowledge of European languages, such as German and French.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and experience in email marketing.
